New York Giants quarterback Russell Wilson visited Mount Sinai Pediatric Hospital and provided gifts to children who are unable to be home this Christmas.

“What a blessing is it to witness the miracle of God’s love and healing power at @mountsinaipediatrics 🙏🏾 Another amazing Tuesday with these incredible kids,” Wilson wrote in an Instagram post. He also included several photos with children in the hospital and their families.

Through Wilson’s Why Not You Foundation, he was able to stock the holiday shop at the hospital.

Wilson and his wife, pop star Ciara, created the foundation in 2014.

“The Why Not You Foundation is a nonprofit committed to transforming lives through education, children’s health, and the fight against poverty — empowering today’s youth to lead with a Why Not You? attitude,” the website reads. “We work to equip individuals with the tools, resources, and mindset to create positive change in their lives and communities. Our mission is to empower change in the world, one individual at a time, and one child at a time.”

Wilson often works to support hospitals.

In November, Wilson’s foundation announced a “$3 million philanthropic gift to NYC’s Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital. The gift will support patient and family programs and facilities within the Kravis Children’s Hospital and will ultimately name the Child Life Zone Theater and the Play Space in the Jack Martin Fund Inpatient Unit for Children’s Cancer and Blood Disease,” a press release read.

“On behalf of the Why Not You Foundation, we are extremely grateful for the opportunity to support and be part of the expansion of patient and family programs and facilities at Kravis Children’s Hospital,” the athlete said in the press release. “Ciara and I created the Why Not You Foundation, inspired by my father’s ‘Why Not You’ attitude, for kids to follow their dreams, and we believe every child deserves a safe space where they can thrive. My visits to Mount Sinai are among the biggest highlights of my week. I look forward to spending time with the children, seeing the smiles on their faces, and witnessing their strength and resilience. Every visit with them is a blessing and we’re honored to help provide these kids with the resources they deserve.”

“Russell and Ciara’s commitment to children and families is both genuine and deeply felt,” Brendan G. Carr, MD, MA, MS, Chief Executive Officer of the Mount Sinai Health System, added. “Their presence in our hospital, week after week, brings joy, hope, and a sense of community to our patients and staff. This generous gift from the Why Not You Foundation will create lasting spaces where children can play, learn, and heal. We are honored to partner with them to advance compassionate, child-centered care at Mount Sinai.”

This Christmas, Wilson and his foundation provided gifts for the children of the Mount Sinai Pediatric Hospital. Wilson’s foundation also provided a $3 million gift to the hospital to support research and family programs.
