Nick Vujicic is alive and well, despite rumors circulating online that he is severely sick or worse.

“We are pleased to report that I am in good health, and we would like to announce that there are many false reports, articles and posts that I’m diagnosed with cancer and even passed away,” the evangelist told The Christian Post. “Although I’d like to go Home, there’s much more work to be done.”

He added, “We know life is short, and glad to report, I’m still here and doing what we can to help one more person find hope through God! To be able to see even one person feel that there is no hope, yet there is hope, is really, really, cool. It is touching, and it is honoring, and it is humbling.”

Vujicic was born without limbs, and despite his disability, he uses his life and platform to evangelize to others.

In a recent interview with Sage Steele posted to Instagram, Vujicic said, “I thanked God that I didn’t get healed at 24 years old, when I met a little boy with no arms, no legs, I thanked God that day: ‘Thank you, God, for actually not giving me limbs.’ Do I have pairs of shoes in my closet in case He gives me arms and legs? Yeah.”

He continued, “The whole point on this side of heaven is not to have the life that you want. It’s to have the life that God wants. And the epiphany is not the experience either of what that even looks like, tangibly, physically. The epiphany of this side of heaven is to bring the greatest delight to our Father.”

Vujicic emphasized the meaninglessness of this life compared to what’s to come in heaven.

“Whatever’s going on, arms and legs today, whatever, but Lord, not my will, Your will and grace be sufficient. Where, if I could help someone realize that Jesus loves them too, that God’s got a plan for them too. I mean, arms and legs for 90 years? Or that one hug in heaven of someone weeping for joy, me hugging them, them hugging me and saying, ‘Thank you for helping me believe that this place called heaven [is real].'”

While things on earth don’t always go the way we hope, we can echo Jesus’ prayer in Luke 22:42 before He went to the cross: “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”
