BLUE BLOODS actor Steve Schirripa’s dog WillieBoy is going viral for his love of food, which Schirripa takes full advantage of in his new picture book WillieBoy Eats the World.
“His name is WillieBoy, and he is going to be 7…He’s like my mother-in-law. He’s stubborn. He’s nosy. He likes to eat. And he likes to fart,” WillieBoy’s owner, actor Schirripa, told the dog-centered Instagram page Tail Talks Interview.
The book follows Schirripa as he lets WillieBoy to teach him about the cuisine of the world after he admits that he only eats Italian food because that’s all he knows.
“WilllieBoy and I are excited to announce that our new children’s book, WillieBoy Eats the World, is available now for preorder!” Schirripa shared on Instagram last September. “In the beautifully illustrated book, my dog WillieBoy gives me a delicious and delightful lesson about the wondrous world of food.”

While your children probably won’t recognize Schirripa, his longtime fans will recognize him from SOPRANOS and, more recently, BLUE BLOODS. He, however, is not a stranger to trying out new things. Last year, he took a leading role in a Hallmark movie titled SISTERHOOD, INC.
“I never did a Hallmark movie,” Schirripa told Us Weekly. “It was, believe it or not, a bucket list thing. How many guys could go from THE SOPRANOS to Hallmark? But I made the jump, and I was very happy, and I had a wonderful time.”
“I really had a good time, I hope to do more,” he added. “It was very nice, no arguing, no killing, no nothing. Even on BLUE BLOODS, which I loved, I must have killed four or five people. I killed more people as a cop than I did as a mobster.”
WillieBoy appeared throughout the movie as well, as Schirripa loves to bring him everywhere he goes.
“We make people happy, and that’s what I like. He makes me happy. He’s like our son. We have two grown daughters that are out of the house,” Schirripa said of his dog. “Our kids think we’re nuts. I say, ‘Willie’s your brother. Be nice.’”
While WillieBoy Eats the World is the actors first foray into children’s books, he is a best selling author, having written an oral history about SOPRANOS and the hilarious confessional about the difficulties of raising daughters and being the only man in the house.
