2022’s Top Stories: ‘I’m a Person of Deep Faith’: Nikki DeLoach Talks New Role in Hallmark’s ‘First Faith-Based Movie’

Editor’s note: Movieguide® is thrilled that our top stories of 2022 were mostly full of life, positivity, encouragement, and allowed our readers to reflect on what is good, true, pure, and lovely. Thank you for joining us this last year and helping us grow. To close out 2022, we’re sharing our top stories of the year.

Nikki DeLoach is revealing more details about her upcoming Hallmark Christmas movie, THE GIFT OF PEACE.

According to The Hollywood Reporter: THE GIFT OF PEACE follows “a once-devout Christian who stopped believing in God after her husband tragically died. As her second Christmas without him approaches, she tries going to a support group for inspiration and comfort.”

“It’s the first faith-based movie that Hallmark has ever done,” DeLoach shared. “And I’m a person of deep faith so it was really cool to be a part of that.”

She continued, “[THE GIFT OF PEACE is] about grief and it’s one of the most emotional movies Hallmark has ever done so we’re kind of breaking the mold with this one.”

The message of overcoming grief was one that hit close to home for the actress.

“I lost my dad last July at 66 years old, and what I’m learning is that it really helps when you can connect with other people and share your grief with others,” DeLoach explained. “We think we have to go through things in isolation and it’s just not the way we’re supposed to human. This movie is kind of a blueprint of how to find the joy and the light amid the grief.”

Several networks have released their upcoming Christmas movie lineup, including Great American Family and UPtv.

Former Movieguide® Awards Host Candace Cameron Bure will appear in GAF’s A CHRISTMAS … PRESENT.

UPtv says they are gearing up for their “Most uplifting Christmas every.”

“With so many people needing to scale back in different ways this holiday season, we wanted to deliver an abundance of Christmas programming so uplifting, holiday cheer was plentiful for our viewers,” said Hector Campos, vice president of content strategy and acquisition at UPtv.

He continued, “We are thrilled to provide them with our largest offering of Christmas programming yet that continues to celebrate the true spirit of the season. We have 17 of the very best Christmas movie premieres, the second season of SMALL TOWN CHRISTMAS, and the premiere of multi-platinum country artist Josh Turner’s KING SIZE MANGER CHRISTMAS special. Whether Christmas lovers are seeking a cozy romantic holiday escape, an uplifting story, or singing along with their favorite songs, we have a diverse slate with something for everyone this Christmas season.”

Movieguide® hopes that much of this Christmas content will remember the true meaning of the holiday — the birth of Jesus Christ.

THE GIFT OF PEACE debuts on the Hallmark Channel on December 10. Movieguide® has yet to review the movie and cannot advise on its content. Check back soon for a full review!
