‘Blessed’: WNBA Star Traded from Vegas Aces to LA Sparks
By Movieguide® Contributor
The Los Angeles Sparks acquired WNBA star Kelsey Plum as part of a three-team trade late last week.
Plum played all of her 235 WNBA regular-season games with the Las Vegas Aces, but that came to an end when the athlete was given a new place with the Sparks.
“A move from San Antonio. Bill Laimbeer. Marc Davis. Becky Hammon. Hall of Fame Teammates. Championships. All stars. Gold medals,” Plum began an Instagram post. “It’s been an incredible journey to be a part of the Aces organization, and Vegas will always hold a special place in my heart.”

“Vegas is much more than the strip,” the guard continued. “It is a community of incredible people that have a real zest for life, and it is a true basketball town. The support and loyalty the city has for the Aces is incredible, and I’m so grateful that I got the chance to experience that love.”
“The friendships I formed here, I’ll hold onto forever,” she added. “I was blessed to play for and learn from star coaches, alongside the best possible teammates. It was a blessing and so very special to be a part of a team that was committed to raising the bar for both the WNBA and women’s sports in general.”
“Now this chapter closes and our time together comes to an end, but I’ll never forget my time in Vegas, nor the profound impact it’s had on my life. I’ve got nothing but love for the organization, the city, the community and everyone in it,” Plum concluded.
The LA Sparks are thrilled to acquire Plum.
“Adding Kelsey signifies the start of a new era for our organization,” said Sparks Governor and Managing Partner Eric Holoman. “She is an elite talent, a proven champion and an extraordinary person and leader. I can’t wait to see her impact on our organization on and off the court.”
Sparks General Manager Raegan Pebley added, “Kelsey is truly one of one. She has won everywhere she’s played, transforming teams with her unique combination of skills, work ethic and leadership. Kelsey’s constant quest to be her best both inspires and holds everyone around her accountable to do the same.”
“Joining the Sparks is an incredible honor,” Plum said. “Growing up in Southern California, I watched this franchise set the standard for excellence, and now I’m blessed to be part of the Sparks’ championship legacy. The list of greats who have played here is legendary, and I’ll be doing everything I can to honor this history and add to it.”
