Browns QB Uses Platform to Be ‘Light of the World’

Cleveland Browns quarterback Jameis Winston is on a mission to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Browns beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in a 24-19 victory last Thursday.
Before the game, Winston was looking to the Lord.
“The horse is prepared for battle, but victory comes from the Lord,” he said, paraphrasing Proverbs 21:31. “I’m depending on the Lord.”
As the field went from green to white due to a snowstorm, “The Browns held an 18-6 lead in the fourth quarter, but a pair of turnovers led the Steelers to hold a one-point lead with just under three-and-a-half minutes remaining,” the Cleveland Browns reported.
“After the Steelers scored a touchdown to cut the Browns’ lead to five points, QB Jameis Winston was sacked on the following drive and fumbled the football. On the next drive, after the Steelers took the lead, Winston threw an interception,” the outlet continued. “However, the Browns stormed back, as Winston led a 45-yard game-winning drive capped off by RB Nick Chubb’s second rushing touchdown of the day. The Browns converted on fourth down twice on their way to regaining the lead.”

“We are called to be the light of the world and the salt of the earth, man,” Winston told ESPN analyst Scott Van Pelt after the game of his social media following and success. “So, I’m going to do whatever I can to glorify the Lord and keep living my best life, keep being authentic, and keep being a person that’s lifting up everybody important towards the Lord.”
After the game, he shared how he stays confident.
“Trust in the Lord with your whole heart and lean not to your own understanding,” Winston said. “I got faith, man. I got faith that I can make something happen at any single time.”
