Chris Hemsworth In Talks to Play Prince Charming

By Movieguide® Contributor

Chris Hemsworth might take on the role of Prince Charming. Here’s what we know.

disney is currently in talks with the THOR star for the upcoming PRINCE CHARMING movie, though disney hasn’t shared many details about the film yet.

WONKA and Teddy Bear Award® nominated PADDINGTON director Paul King will direct the flick, and Simon Farnaby and Jon Croker will co-write.

While many classic disney princesses’ significant others are lumped together under the name of “Prince Charming,” the title really only belongs to Cinderella’s love interest.

However, “As for the film project, insiders do add that the film will not specifically be linked to Cinderella,” Deadline disney-paul-king-1236146976/">reported.

Hemsworth has been busy this year. Variety disney-paul-king-1236187996/">reported, “Aussie actor Hemsworth most recently voiced Optimus Prime in the animated sci-fi film TRANSFORMERS ONE and earlier this year appeared as deranged warlord Dementus in George Miller’s FURIOSA: A MAD MAX SAGA opposite Anya Taylor-Joy.’”

Despite his many projects, though, his family comes first.

“There [are] times when I’ve thought, ‘Wow, because having kids is more important to me, some of my roles have suffered,’” the actor told GQ Australia in 2018. “There [are] definitely a couple of films I could’ve put way more energy into but I was like, ‘No, I’d rather be with my kids.’”

“I often find myself saying it’s all for my family but in all this I definitely have personal things I need to achieve, too,” he added. “The difference is you have to open yourself up and go, ‘Well, you had kids so you forfeited a bit of that.’”

Despite a busy work schedule, Hemsworth said that he and his wife, Elsa, took parenting seriously. “When I think about my kids, I don’t want them to miss that joy,” he said of the values they taught their children as parents. “Elsa and I talk a lot about how we instill that same appreciation and respect for things. I don’t want them to feel like they’re privileged in any way. The fact that we have money and their parents are famous, that somehow they’re special, that scares me because we grew up with no money.”
