Christ filled singer-songwriter Megan Danielle advanced into AMERICAN IDOL’S top three contestants.
Danielle shared on her Instagram a photo of her performance and stated, “WOW! Thank y’all ? I’m so honored and grateful! Let’s keep sharing the light and love of Jesus? Top #3 ???#Idol#MeganOnIdol #TeamMegan #Top3??”
At this stage of the competition, it was the Disney Night and the song that got her into the top three was “You Can’t Stop the Girl” from the film MALEFICIENT: MISTRESS OF EVIL.
Movieguide® recently reported on Luke Bryan celebrating Danielle for her unashamed faith:
As season 21 of AMERICAN IDOL continued, contestant Megan Danielle decided to take a risk, one that landed her a spot in the top eight.
Megan Danielle performed the song, “Go Rest High on That Mountain” by Vince Gill.
The lyrics read, “Go rest high on that mountain/ ‘cause Son your work on earth is done/ go to Heaven a shoutin’ love for the Father and the Son.”
Once Danielle concluded the performance, Luke Bryan revealed that he had picked the song for her and that it was nothing short of “unbelievable.”
“What I love about you is … you’re never scared to tell everybody your faith,” Bryan stated to Danielle.
He added, “When I thought about that song, I … just felt in my heart that I couldn’t pick a better one than that for you.”
With the performance reiterated as “perfect” from Bryan, Danielle moved herself into the top eight.
She took to her Instagram posting, Not Top Seven BUT EIGHT !!!! ❤️ Thank y’all from the bottom of my heart! This was one of my most challenging performances but what a way to honor my papa! Thank you, God! 11.24 ??️”
Katy Perry told Danielle following the performance, “I don’t think Luke chose that song. I think your Grandpa chose that song and I think he’s trying to tell you that you are exactly where you’re meant to be right now. You deserve this moment, Megan, and it’s a wonderful confirmation. I don’t believe in any coincidences and we couldn’t have known any of that. So I just think that was Heaven sent.”
