Cowboys QB Dak Prescott Talks Prep for Next Season: ‘Iron Sharpening Iron’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott joined Fox News to talk about the upcoming season and opened up about what it looks like to take his game to the next level.

“For one, it’s the details,” the quarterback began. “The way that I prepare, making sure everyone I bring along with me are also preparing the right way. They’re understanding the details and their job responsibility on this team.

“Obviously, we’ve made some changes, brought in some vets, and there is a lot of great momentum headed into this season,” he added. “I don’t think anybody is complacent with what’s been done around here. This team, this organization, it’s about winning the Super Bowl, and when you don’t do that, it’s hard to count the success.”

Prescott was then asked about the banter that occurs in practice.

“It’s very healthy banter between two teammates,” Prescott said with a smile. “We’re always going back and forth.”

“When you’re competing at a high level, and you believe that your side is better than the other side, that’s mutual, and that’s iron sharpening iron,” he added. Citing Proverbs 27:17.

Prescott will be back on the field after an injury last season.

Movieguide® previously reported on Prescott’s season-ending injury:

Fans may remember the gruesome injury that forced Prescott to end his season early last year. At the time, Prescott was unsure if he still had a future on the field. Yet the strong Christian knew God was in control of his destiny.

“So even sitting there, holding my leg or whatever on the field, trying to put it back into place, or later on being in the hospital and waking up from surgery, that’s just what God’s thrown at me. If you’ve known my life, if you’ve known my story, whatever circumstance that is, I’m going to take it with a smile and be thankful that God has put me in this position to overcome it, to be an example to others,” Prescott said.

Movieguide® reported:

Prescott says he trusts that God will sustain him through the rehabilitation process. He’s certain that even his injury is within God’s ultimate plan for his life.

“I’m just excited—excited for God’s purpose and plan,” Prescott said. “I know it’s bigger than anything that I see or I could have imagined, but I’m trusting Him. My faith is doubled down more than ever and I’m thankful that He’s my Savior and He guides me in life.”
