** FROZEN Merchandise Dominates Holiday Sales
More than a year after its initial release, Disney’s animated movie FROZEN is still proving its immense popularity.
FROZEN is already the highest grossing animated film of all time and is now set to be one of the most popular gift themes for kids this Christmas. In addition to sales of the movie on DVD and Blu-ray, FROZEN merchandise has replaced long-standing leader Barbie as the best-selling toy for girls this season, according to a survey by the National Retail Federation.
A Walmart company spokesperson said Walmart is offering more than 700 Frozen-themed options in its stores, and retailers everywhere are stocking up. In fact, shipments of FROZEN merchandise have seen a 470 percent increase in the August to October range of this year when compared to the same time period last year, according to Panjiva, a company tracking global trade.
More than three million Elsa and Anna dresses have already been sold this year, and that number, along with the rest of the profits for all things FROZEN, is only likely to increase as parents shop for their children’s Christmas wish lists.
Overwhelmingly popular, FROZEN is also a great movie for the whole family, especially in its promotion of Christian sacrificial love and family values. So, if anything were to be topping sales this holiday season, MOVIEGUIDE® is glad it’s FROZEN.
