How Prayer Sustained This AGT Contestant Through 37 Years of Prison

AMERICA’S GOT TALENT contestant Archie Williams said prayer sustained him through 37 years of prison.
“When you’re faced with dark times, what I would do is I would pray and sing; this is how I got peace,” said Williams.
However, Williams spent those 37 years in jail unjustly starting in 1982 under a wrongful conviction. The Christian Post reported:
Williams was finally given a shot at justice after the Innocence Project took on his case and found DNA evidence to help exonerate him. The nonprofit legal organization specializes in exonerating individuals who have been wrongly convicted. They found a fingerprint analysis in 2019, which led to Williams’ freedom.
Williams said that he’s a longtime fan of the reality competition show and watched it behind bars. He jumped at the chance to audition for the new season.
“His vindication is his validation,” AGT said on Instagram.
Williams sang and blew the judges away.
“This is an audition I will never forget for the whole of my life,” said AGT judge Simon Cowell.
Fellow judge Heidi Klum teared up and said that it takes a lot to make her cry.
All four judges including Howie Mandel and Sofia Vergara gave Williams a multitude of resounding yeses, and he advanced to the next round.
