Tasha Layton’s song “Thank You Isn’t Enough” reminds listeners that, no matter what is happening in our lives, we can praise the Lord and share gratitude for His mercy.
“Thank you for the air that I’m breathing / thank you for a life full of meaning / thank you for a brand new start / a broken heart that’s finally beating. Thank you for the joy that I’m feeling / thank for a new kind of freedom / O Lord / for all that you’ve done / got a million reasons / thank you isn’t enough,” Layton sings in the chorus of “Thank You Isn’t Enough.”

The song is a part of her 2025 album Life In Me, which highlights the experience of walking through life with God and leaning on Him throughout triumphs and trials.
“Each track really represents a season from my walk with Jesus. The album is a beautiful picture of His life in me,” Layton told K-Love last year when the album released. “These songs tell the story of God’s faithfulness through every season, and I can’t wait for you to experience them.”
The album was her second studio release after becoming a breakout star in the Christian music scene in 2022. Layton, however, has a long history in the music industry, competing on AMERICAN IDOL in 2010 before landing a job as a backup singer for Katy Perry.
Working with the pop icon opened Layton’s eyes to the realities of the music industry and caused her to pursue a different path when she was later given the opportunity to sign with secular music labels.
“I just didn’t see how a mainstream deal and the music that they wanted me to sing…was going to be helpful for anyone and much less connect people to who I believe is the Creator of the universe,” Layton explained.
“That’s the impetus for everything that I do,” she added. “I want [people] to see God’s hand in my life over the years, through the valleys and the hard times… And when they see God’s hand in my story, my prayer is that they’ll be able to see God in their stories, too.”
Layton continues to work to share the gospel with people and helps them realize what it means to truly have a relationship with the Lord. Along with her songs, which help listeners connect with God, Layton has written two books to help others grow in their faith. Praise the Lord for her continued success and the ways she helps her fans grow spiritually.
