Fall hasn’t even started yet, but Matthew West is already getting into the holiday spirit; the artist just announced an upcoming Christmas album and accompanying tour.
“Christmas may still be a little ways away, but I’ve got an early gift for you…” West shared in an Instagram post. “My brand-new album Come Home For Christmas arrives Oct. 10, AND we’re hitting the road this December for the Come Home For Christmas Tour!”
He continued, “These nights will be full of songs, stories, and the true meaning of Christmas – and I hope you’ll bring the whole family along. Can’t wait to celebrate this season with you!”

Come Home For Christmas will feature classic Christmas songs like “It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” and “Joy To The World,” as well as some originals, like “Dysfunctional Family Christmas.”
A press release about the song states, “Come Home For Christmas features a heartfelt blend of original songs and timeless holiday classics, all wrapped in West’s signature storytelling style. Drawing back to family and back to faith, the album centers around what truly matters in the newest soundtrack for the holiday season.”
The “Come Home For Christmas” tour will kick off following West’s annual Nashville event of the same name, which was born out of the COVID-19 lockdowns.
“We had this idea of building an event in Nashville where we could invite people who would watch those virtual concerts to come to my city and have a Christmas weekend with us, and we decided we’ll call it Come Home for Christmas,” West explained to Fox News in a 2022 interview.
One of his favorite parts of the event is sharing the Christmas magic of Franklin, Tennessee, a town just outside of his home in Nashville.
“Thousands of people show up for the Christmas tree lighting, and they’ve had me be the one who officiates that every year,” he said. “I always wish people could experience the magic of this little town, and now they’re going to get to do that.”
West also wrote a book titled “Come Home For Christmas,” which “leads readers to experience Christmas through the eyes of a child and to come home to greater joy, hope, peace, and belonging found only in Jesus,” per his website.
Come Home For Christmas will be available to stream and purchase Oct. 10. Tickets for the “Come Home For Christmas” tour go on sale Sept. 12.
