Melania Trump Set for Rare Interview Later This Week

By Movieguide® Contributor

An interview with former First Lady Melania Trump is set to air on Fox News this Thursday with a focus on her upcoming memoir and the two assassination attempts that have occurred against her husband in recent weeks.

The interview will offer a rare look at the former first lady who has largely remained out of the public eye since her family left the White House in 2021. Trump, however, joined her husband during the last night of the Republican National Convention and has been more active on social media in recent weeks to promote her upcoming memoir, Melania.

The memoir follows Trump’s life both before her marriage and throughout her time as a public figure. She hopes it will correct misconceptions and paint a more accurate picture of her and her family.

“Writing my memoir has been an amazing journey filled with emotional highs and lows,” Trump told Fox News Digital earlier this month. “Each story shaped me into who I am today.”

Leading up to the Oct. 8 release, Trump has been sharing excerpts from her book to help people understand the types of stories it will include. One of these releases includes a recollection of the race riots that occurred in 2020 after the death of George Floyd.

“The loud knocking on my door sent a jolt through my body,” Trump shared. “The Secret Service agent told me I need to move. Safety was paramount, not just for me, but for the president and all the other residents of the White House. The violent protests across the country had finally reached Pennsylvania Avenue.”

In the wake of the attempts against her husband’s life, Trump has been calling for national unity and a combined effort to resist political violence.

“I am thinking of you, now, my fellow Americans,” she said after the first assassination attempt. “Dawn is here again. Let us reunite. Now.”

“[The nation must] ascend above the hate, the vitriol, and the simple-minded ideas that ignite violence,” she added.

These topics and more will be discussed when the interview airs this Thursday on Fox News.

Movieguide® previously reported on Trump:

First Lady Melania Trump said she had turned to prayer and was calling for healing in the United States.

“As your First Lady, it has been inspiring to witness firsthand what the people of our great Nation will do for one another, especially when we are at our most vulnerable,” Melania said. “With nearly every experience I have had, I found myself carrying many individual’s stories home with me in my heart.

“Most recently, my heart goes out to: Air Force Veteran, Ashli Babbitt, Benjamin Philips, Kevin Greeson, Roseanne Boyland, and Capitol Police Officers, Brian Sicknick and Howard Liebengood. I pray for their families comfort and strength during this difficult time,” she said.

While mainstream outlets focus on the violence and calls for President Donald Trump to be removed from office, the truth is that his administration wholly condemned the attacks and is working to restore order.
