NCIS star Sasha Alexander will be joining the cast of THE LINCOLN LAWYER Season 4.
Alexander will premiere as FBI agent Dawn Ruth, a tough and “intimidating” character, Hello! US reported on May 14.
“She and her colleague interrupt Mickey’s dinner to not-so-subtly threaten him to drop his investigation into the FBI, or else,” a description reads.
Alexander is known for her role as another agent, Caitlin Todd, in NCIS Seasons 1 and 2. She’s also starred in RIZZOLI, ISLES and SHAMELESS.
She previously told TV Guide why she quit NCIS after two seasons: “People don’t realize that on a network show, you make 24 episodes a year — that’s 10½ months a year, 17 hours a day. It’s hardcore. Plus, people really loved the character, and the way they did it was really shocking…it was a bullet to the head, you know?”
But she doesn’t regret leaving the hit 22-season show.
“I really firmly believe in my heart that I would not be where I am today — happily married, with two kids, doing things creatively that I want — if I had stayed,” she said. “I didn’t want to wake up and be in my forties and go, ‘Oh, my g**h!’ But people don’t understand.”
Season 3 of THE LINCOLN LAWYER left its main character, defense attorney Mickey Haller, arrested after someone set him up — Sam Scales’ body was found in the trunk of his car. The next time he steps into a courtroom, it’ll be to defend himself.
Showrunner Ted Humphrey said of Season 4, “Well, the biggest cliff-hanger of all is ‘What is going to happen to Mickey?’ and that one certainly plays out across the whole season in the form of his trial.
“But in the first episode you’ll understand at least the broad strokes of what specifically has happened and what charges — and adversaries — Mickey is facing. This is going to be the biggest and most personal challenge Mickey has ever faced, and also the biggest roller coaster we’ve yet taken our audience on.”
THE LINCOLN LAWYER is based on a book series by Michael Conelly. ScreenRant says according to the books, Lincoln’s ex, Maggie (Neve Campbell), supports him through his trial. However, there’s a plot twist this season. Deadline announced that Jason O’Mara will join the cast as Jack Gilroy, Maggie’s new boyfriend.
Season 4 will also star Emmanuelle Chriqui, Nancy Silverton, Javon Johnson, Elliott Gould and Krista Warner. The season doesn’t have a release date confirmed yet.
