NFL QB Praises College Football Players’ Bold Faith: ‘Foundational’
By Movieguide® Contributor
Cleveland Browns quarterback Jameis Winston commended young college athletes like the Ohio State football team for how boldly they proclaimed their faith from the field.
“I think, man, one thing that’s been amazing that I’m starting to see has been the uproar at Ohio State University. And seeing those young believers on fire for Christ and seeing almost a whole team in prayer before the game,” Winston said on Sports Spectrum’s podcast. “When that clip showed upm like that’s the stuff on social media that I’m grateful that Sports Spectrum does of highlighting those opportunities.”
“Like young kids, man, when you can highlight something that, when you can highlight the Lord’s work,” the quarterback continued, “I promise you all the other stuff that’s gonna come, whether it’s the laughter, whether it’s the fame. When you highlight the Lord’s work, even if it’s through scrutiny or through praise, it’s coming, right? Because that’s the only thing that’s consistent, that’s the only thing that’s foundational.”
