ORDINARY ANGELS is releasing on DVD and Blu-Ray with an all-new behind-the-scenes look and special features.
Along with the full-length movie, the DVD and Blu-Ray releases will feature audio commentary from director Jon Gunn and producers Jon Berg and Kevin Downes and special features “Making ORDINARY ANGELS,” “Inspiring the Ordinary,” “Finding Your Purpose,” “You Are Not Alone” and deleted scenes.
“Based on a remarkable trues story, ORDINARY ANGELS centers on Sharon, a fierce but struggling hairdresser in small-town Kentucky who discovers a renewed sense of purpose when she meets Ed, a widower working hard to make ends meet for his two daughters,” a description of the movie reads. “With Ed’s youngest daughter waiting for a liver transplant, Sharon sets her mind to helping the family and moves mountains to do it.”
After a strong run at the domestic box office, the movie was sent to play in theaters internationally. ORDINARY ANGELS stars Hillary Swank, Alan Ritchson, Nancy Travis, Emily Mitchell and Skywalker Hughes. A portion of Movieguide®’s review reads:
ORDINARY ANGELS is a very exciting movie. It’s also extremely heartrending because it shows many people volunteering to help this little girl. Even the television station in the small community helps and asks people for prayer. Frankly, very few movies have so well integrated Christian faith, values and entertainment together like ORDINARY ANGELS. That said, MOVIEGUIDE® suggests light caution for younger children because of the mother’s death and moments where the little girl vomits blood.
ORDINARY ANGELS is an incredible testament to the power of community. It demonstrates not only how important it is to help people through difficult times but also how looking out for others can provide people with a sense of purpose. The movie’s creators hoped that ORDINARY ANGELS would provide people with great entertainment and inspire them to look for those who need help within their own communities.

Jon Gunn, Kevin Downes and Jon Berg explained the purpose behind ORDINARY ANGELS and how they hope it will connect with audiences.
“I think that what was really important to us is that a lot of times you can watch a movie about someone who does something extraordinary, and you feel like it’s nice to watch, but it’s intimidating that, ‘I’m not special enough or accomplished enough to be able to do something meaningful,’” director Jon Gunn told Movieguide®.
“This was such a great reminder that all of us can change a life or impact or help somebody or do something selfless whether you’re ordinary or, like you said, broken and feel less than ordinary, those are often the angels,” Gunn continued. “Whether you choose them or not, they can come into your life and help or make an impact or transform your world, so this was what we were really drawn to about the story.”
