Sadie Robertson Huff celebrated her late grandfather Phil Robertson’s “life of authenticity” following his recent death.
“I’ve been overwhelmed today by all of the texts, DMs, posts, messages, articles, and words that have been sent and spoken about Papaw Phil and how he impacted so many,” Huff wrote in an Instagram post. “I wrote in my post yesterday that he touched ‘thousands,’ and I can confidently correct that now to millions.”
Huff continued, “I can’t stop thinking about how he lived in the middle of nowhere, in a small, humble home with no cell phone or computer, and yet his life touched millions with the hope of Jesus.”
“He reminds me of people in the Bible. Not many lived with the end goal in mind as much as he did, and not many chose to spend their lives telling everyone they encountered like he did,” she wrote. “He really believed it, and I know that he is alive in Christ fully today! What a life of authenticity. What a legend.”
Huff posted about her grandfather’s death earlier this week, writing, “It was his testimony that changed his life, our families life, and thousands of others. Now he is experiencing it in the fullness. Fully alive in Christ. The new has come.”

“One of the last things he said to me was ‘full strength ahead!’ Amen!” she concluded.
Robertson passed away on May 25 at the age of 79. No cause of death has been released, but he had been dealing with health issues over the last few years. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in December 2024.
Willie Robertson, Robertson’s son, also posted a tribute to his father on Instagram, writing, “He taught me the value of sharing my faith with others. He was the Real Deal, the same on Sundays as Fridays. Most of our conversations were not about hunting or business, but about sharing the Gospel.”
“Phil, I love you and already miss you,” Willie continued. “Thank you for raising me the right way and teaching me the most important lesson to prepare me for the day you passed on. Not sure how people deal with loss without the Lord. We may be wrong about all this….but I doubt it! Sleep well Dad, can’t wait to see you.”
Robertson’s family members’ touching tributes to him are reminders of the strength of his faith and how it impacted so many around the world.
