Pixar’s INSIDE OUT Tops JURASSIC WORLD
in Holiday Weekend Box Office July Fourth
Variety revealed Monday that Pixar’s family-friendly INSIDE OUT edged past JURASSIC WORLD over the July Fourth weekend, $29.8 million versus $29.2 million. INSIDE OUT also beat the dinosaur flick over the past five-day period in North America, $45.1 million versus $42.1 million.
JURASSIC WORLD remains a huge blockbuster, however, surpassing $558 million in the U.S. and Canada and $826 million overseas.
TERMINATOR GENISYS came in third, with $27 million over the weekend, but it passed JURASSIC WORLD over the five-day period, logging in $42.5 in the U.S. and Canada.
The raunchy, lewd MAGIC MIKE XXL came in a distant fourth, with only $12.9 million during the weekend.
So far this year, MOVIEGUIDE® favorites dominate four of the top five movies domestically, including INSIDE OUT and CINDERELLA, showing that the most family-friendly, faith-friendly and uplifting movies continue to make the most money.
