This Podcast Promises to Bring Old Testament to Life for Christians and Jews
By Movieguide® Contributor
A new podcast is striving to bring a Jewish perspective on the Bible to its followers.
Titled “The Chosen People” from Pray.com, “listeners will journey into the hearts and minds of ancient Israel, experiencing tales of wonder and war, of slavery and salvation.” The podcast aims to bring the Old Testament to life for Christians and Jews alike.
“The biblical characters each hold divine revelation, which is especially relevant to us today, as the world seems so dark and scary,” said Yael Eckstein, the podcast’s host and president and CEO of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. “When we dive deep, we realize that their stories are our stories — their fall from grace, their struggle to survive, and the heroes who rose to build and save a nation, all hold profound wisdom and guidance for our lives as both Christians and Jews.”
She continued, “Within these biblical narratives lie deep spiritual truths about faith, prayer, and the human spirit. They are stories that continue to define the people of Israel to this day and can help Christians understand the root of their faith in a practical and inspirational way.”
Co-founder of Pray.com Matthew Potter added, “We are honored to bring this unique series to our audience. Yael’s Jewish perspective illuminates the richness of these Old Testament stories, inviting listeners to explore the spiritual heritage of Israel and its role in shaping their own faith journey.”
The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews is “the leading non-profit building bridges between Christians and Jews, blessing Israel and the Jewish people around the world with humanitarian care and lifesaving aid.”
Last year, the organization sponsored racecar driver JJ Yeley who raced to raise funds to help Israel. Movieguide® previously reported:
In partnership with the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (The Fellowship), NASCAR driver JJ Yeley announced the “Race to Support Israel” campaign to raise emergency aid funds for Israel.
“As a Christian, my faith has always been a guiding light for me,” Yeley said. “Partnering with The Fellowship to support Israel during these trying times is not just an opportunity but a calling. Together, we are making a difference by providing tangible assistance to those in need.”
“The needs [are] massive and urgent…please join me, my racing team and thousands of others by supporting the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews,” he said in an Instagram video.
Through the partnership, Yeley will raise awareness for the war in Israel and funnel resources towards Israel’s vital needs. The money raised will go towards lifesaving medical care, food, water, clothing and providing first responders with essential emergency gear to provide proper treatment.
