Savannah Bananas outfielder RobertAnthony Cruz encouraged fans regarding finding their God-given calling in life.

“Wholeheartedly pursue your dreams and work hard, God has gifted each one of you in a specific way,” said Cruz aka Coach RAC. “Each of you have a calling over your life.”

Cruz shared out of Ephesians, a subject of his and fellow teammates’ current Bible study, that speaks of God’s purpose for our lives.

“You are God’s workmanship created for good works,” the California native cited Ephesians 2:10.

“So there are specific things that are for you to do, and when you walk in those good works that God has prepared for you beforehand, you will have this overwhelming joy and peace and contentment for your soul that is not hinged upon the way that you perform, that’s not hinged upon your successes and that is available to you right now in Christ, Jesus,” he continued.

When Cruz is not doing his famous backflip ball catches and performing dance moves on the field, he often shares training tips and about his faith on social media. One post, in regard to overcoming failure, can easily apply to not only sports, but life in general.

“Have you ever seen a big-league hitter point up to the sky thanking God after hitting a big home run?” the 27-year-old said. “Well, I don’t personally think there’s anything wrong with that, but if there’s one thing I’ve been learning lately is that God cares more about your heart than how much you succeed.”

“I’ve learned that you can glorify God just as much, if not even more, by striking out and holding your head high and having a good attitude, [as opposed] to simply praising God when you succeed,” Cruz went onto say.

In addition to sharing his faith on social media, Cruz and fellow team members host worship nights called Sandlot Revival worship nights where he shares a gospel message.

“[O]n Saturday we played for a sold out Angels stadium in front of 45,000 fans. Usually this would be the highlight of my weekend, but on Sunday, this happened…” Cruz’s post captioned. “We hosted our 4th @sandlotrevival worship night of the year, and per usual, we didn’t know what to expect…While we typically anticipate around 500 people joining us, there were over 2,500 people who joined us for our time of worship. We were blown away.”

“To Him be the Glory always. Revival is not marked by emotional moments, but spiritual maturity in Christ,” he concluded. “Nothing compares to the greatness of knowing You.”

May the Lord continue to use Cruz and fellow team members as they follow their calling to encourage people in their faith and lead people to Christ.
