Tim Tebow and his wife, Demi, are expecting a baby girl later this year, and the former NFL star shared their hilarious gender-reveal-gone-wrong moment.
“The thing they forgot was to remember that I’m color blind,” Tebow said in a recent Instagram video. “I can tell, like, stark colors. I can tell the difference. But something that is, like, what do they call it? Mauve pink, or something? I’m like, I don’t know what that is. But it was so soft pink, that, to me, it just looked like a, like a gray-brown.”
“And so I’m like, ‘What is this? Was that a boy or a girl? I don’t know,’…And so that’s how it looked to me,” Tebow laughed. “And so I didn’t want to ruin it. And so Demi’s like cheering. And then she’s like, ‘It’s a girl!’ And then I’m like, ‘Yay!’ I was just copying her reaction.”
All jokes aside, the couple cannot wait to introduce their baby girl into the world.
“Our greatest blessing. We’ve been praying for her long before we knew her, and we’re beyond grateful that God chose us to be her parents. We can’t wait to meet you, baby girl!” Demi wrote on Instagram alongside a video of the gender reveal.
For their reveal, the couple decided to “create a meaningful piece of art for the nursery” through painting.
“We chose two Bible verses — one for a boy and one for a girl — to add to the canvas once it was complete,” Demi wrote.
The Bible verse they chose for their baby girl is Psalm 25:4-5: “Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.”
“We pray that she always finds her identity in Christ and places her hope in His love and truth,” the mom-to-be concluded.

Many of the couple’s fans shared their excitement for the new baby girl.
“Because we need more good girl dads and Tebow will nail it with his perfect wife,” one person wrote.
“Girls are the best, brother. And my goodness did she hit the parent lottery! Congratulations!” another said.
Another person commented, “One of the biggest blessings is being a girl dad!”
The Tebows also talked with Parents, revealing what they’re most excited about when becoming new parents.
“The thing I’m most excited about is seeing a little Demi,” Tim said in the video shared on Instagram. “I just think it is going to be so fun to watch Demi be a mom because I think this entire pregnancy she’s just had a glow about her, she’s loved it. This is something we’ve been called to and it’s such a blessing. We’re honored.”
“On a lighter note, I’m just excited to see him rock a pink stroller,” Demi said as the two laughed together. “But no, we’re so thrilled and so blessed and so grateful for this blessing in this life that we get to help steward and help raise and that’s obviously a very big responsibility.”
