Tom Holland Dishes on ‘Intense,’ ‘Really Fun’ SPIDER-MAN 4 Prep

By Movieguide® Contributor

Tom Holland is sharing his favorite parts of being Spider-Man as he prepares to start production on the fourth movie in the series.

“It’s intense,” he said of the physical preparation during an interview on LIVE! WITH KELLY AND MARK. “There’s no better reason to get in shape than being in a movie that everyone in the world is going to watch, so I love it. I really enjoy it. I find it to be one of my favorite aspects of making those films. It’s really fun to get into shape for a job.”

The actor also shared one of his favorite things about portraying the superhero: kids’ reactions.

“When I meet little kids who are dressed up as Spider-Man and I get to see how excited they are, my favorite thing is when they don’t necessarily know if it’s real or not,” Holland laughed. “[Or] when you see a kid trying to figure out, ‘Can he actually do those things?’”

Holland has recently confirmed a number of things about the highly-anticipated SPIDER-MAN 4.

“Next summer, we start shooting,” he said during an appearance on THE TONIGHT SHOW. “Everything’s good to go. We’re nearly there.”

“All I can say is that I’m incredibly excited,” Holland said about the project. “And obviously honored, but that’s all I can say because, to be honest, that’s all I know.”

He’s also slated to appear in AMERICAN SPEED, alongside Austin Butler. The movie is “based on the true story of the Whittington brothers — three historically famous race car drivers, two of whom were part of the 1980s IMSA scandal, in which a number of drivers were charged with financing their racing activities with proceeds from drug smuggling, money laundering or tax evasion,” per Deadline.
