Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence led his team to win the AFC South Championship for the first time since 2022.
This season, Lawrence competed in all 17 regular season games and had over 4,000 passing yards, 29 touchdowns and only 12 interceptions on the year. He also accrued 359 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns, which are both record highs for the quarterback.
Three of those 29 touchdowns came in the Jaguars’ win on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. In the game, Lawrence wore a wristband with the Bible verse Galatians 6:9 written on it.
The verse reads, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

Lawrence looks to keep that same mindset as the Jaguars now to look ahead to the playoffs.
“We know there’s more for us,” he said in Sunday’s postgame press conference. “It doesn’t stop here. We’ve put in all this work to get here. Let’s not let it go to waste.”
As a fifth-year quarterback, Lawrence has had his fair share of ups and downs in his career. In 2024, Lawrence declared that his faith is something he wants everyone to know about him.
“It’s something I really want to be known about me,” the athlete told the Florida Times-Union. “I wouldn’t be who I am if it wasn’t for my faith or my relationship with Jesus. It’s the biggest thing in my life. I know the peace that it’s given me, especially in this crazy job that we have.”
Lawrence came to know Christ during his time at Clemson in 2018. In July of that same year, he experienced God’s love for him, decided to rededicate his life to Christ and was then baptized.
“When God came into my life, that unsettled feeling about the way I lived and acted that came over me, that is really what has humbled me more than anything,” Lawrence said. “And now, especially having success and making money, that really doesn’t make me happy, it really doesn’t.
“… My faith in Jesus and believing that there’s something bigger in this world is what matters,” he added.
The 13-4 Jaguars will face the 12-5 Buffalo Bills this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. in the NFL Wild Card Round. Lawrence looks to shake things up this year and help push his team all the way to the Super Bowl, as well as let God lead the way for him.
