Everything We Know About ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL Season 6

With a Season 6 release window now set for early 2026, PBS revealed new cast members and a synopsis for the next adventures on ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL.

“ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL Season 6 takes us back to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales for more heartwarming human and animal tales but, this time, we find our beloved Skeldale gang in a somewhat different situation as we join them in 1945, just as the war in Europe is coming to a close,” a synopsis from PBS reads.

“We arrive back in Darrowby to veterinary advancements, expanded families, and new faces as they all look ahead to a brighter and more peaceful future. This season will see Herriot’s wonderful characters navigating the opportunities that a new world brings, a host of animals great and small, and of course, each other,” the synopsis concludes.

The upcoming season will introduce new cast members including Lucy-Jo Hudson, Gaia Wise, Jonathan Hyde, Philip Martin Brown and Chris Gascoyne. Meanwhile, returning cast members include Nicholas Ralph (veterinarian James Herriot), Samuel West (Siegfried Farnon), Anna Madeley (Mrs. Hall), Rachel Shenton (Helen Herriot), Callum Woodhouse (Tristan Farnon), Patricia Hodge (Mrs. Pumphrey), Tony Pitts (Richard Alderson) and Imogen Clawson (Jenny).

First look photos from the season suggest that characters will be grappling with the difficulties of returning to normal life after the horrors of World War II. However, they will remain busy as their community life continues on.

The actors on the show have found a great community as well, both with each other and with their incredible fans who continue to show their support year after year.

“It sounds so cheesy, but it’s true. It’s special, ALL CREATURES,” Shenton said in 2024. “Every year we have a crew who could be doing other jobs who want to come back because of what it’s like to work on it. They jump off other jobs so they can come back to ALL CREATURES.”

“That’s down to the community on the show, and how much they care about the stories,” she continued. “I wish I had something other to say than that because I know how it sounds, but it is lovely. It’s been a pleasure.”

While PBS has yet to provide an exact date, Season 6 of ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL is set to release in the U.K. this fall, before making its way to the U.S. in early 2026. The season will feature six episodes along with a Christmas special.
