TRACKER’s second season just came to a dramatic close, but what’s in store for Season 3? Here’s everything we know.
“Sharing some really great news today,” star Justin Hartley wrote in a February Instagram post. “Thank you all for watching us. Because of the #trackerbackers we get to make more of these @trackercbs episodes. Here we go!!”
It’s no surprise CBS gave TRACKER a speedy renewal; the show is currently the top show on broadcast TV, averaging at 10.84 million viewers per episode, per Nielsen.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Hartley shared that production on Season 3 will likely start in July.
While few plot details have been discussed, TRACKER’s showrunner Elwood Reid told THR, “Colter is going to get an answer” about the complicated family questions that have now arisen after the events of Season 2’s finale.
“I think there is a much bigger mystery with what his father was up to that caused him to go off the deep end, that I think we’re going to get into as the season goes on,” Reid continued. “We’re going to pick up the aftermath in season three.”

In another interview with THR, Hartley said, “We have many more stories to tell. Now we’re in new territory.”
One of those new ideas? Setting his character, Colter Shaw, up for a crime.
“Colter has all of these skills; he’s a survivalist and he knows how to be alone, and he knows how to find people and he’s gifted in that regard. He’s a great listener,” the actor explained. “But it would be interesting, I think, to see him be set up. In other words, to see him using all those skills to run from the authorities, because you’ve been set up for whatever reason. I’d love to have all that tie into the family background, the government.”
Hartley continued, “We’ll see. We’ve been kicking that idea around. We have a lot of different stuff that we’re talking about. We have the underlying theme of what we’re going to do next year, while not really changing the direction of where our story is going.”
He repeated that story idea in an interview with Variety, adding, “I really, really like that idea. I have a bunch of pitches that I have given the room, and I have a few more that I still have to give the room that I think are compelling, and hopefully people agree.”
No premiere date for TRACKER Season 3 has been announced, but fans of the show, never fear: TRACKER is confirmed to be back for the 2025-26 season. We can’t wait!
