Exciting news, Hearties! WHEN CALLS THE HEART Season 13 will premiere Sunday, Jan. 4, 2026.
“Merry Christmas! We’ve got a very special gift for you,” star Erin Krakow said in a new Instagram video.
“Guess who’s coming back to Hope Valley?” asked returning guest star Melissa Gilbert.
“It’s me!” actress Brooke Shields jumped in. “And I’m so happy to be returning to WHEN CALLS THE HEART.”
“You don’t want to miss the all-new season,” Krakow concluded.

WCTH wrapped filming just last month.
“That’s a wrap on @wcth_tv Season 13!” Krakow posted on Oct. 28, along with a photo of her and co-star Kevin McGarry putting their feet up. “We’re proud, pleased, and pooped. That’s a lot of P words. 😉 Can’t wait to share this beautiful season with all of you!”
So what can fans expect from Season 13?
Season 12 concluded with Krakow’s Elizabeth and McGarry’s Nathan heading to Cape Fullerton to get Elizabeth’s son, Little Jack (Hyland Goodrich), the medicine he needs. Krakow promised that the pair will “ take steps forward” in their relationship.
“Well, we get to explore a bit of what their life looks like as they’ve left Hope Valley,” the actress told Swooon of Elizabeth and Nathan’s future. “But of course, we can’t keep them away from our special little town for too long. So obviously, we bring them back to Hope Valley, and we get to really learn more about them as a team, as partners, as potential coparents together.”
She added, “There’s a lot of really beautiful moments where we get to see how they help each other, parent Allie [Jaeda Lily Miller] and Little Jack, and there are some really just gorgeous, cinematic romantic moments between them as well.”
But according to McGarry, tragedy is ahead, too.
“There’s an event that happens at the beginning of season 13 that kind of shatters Hope Valley and the surrounding area and sets off a journey for every character that’ll run the entire season,” he teased earlier this month.
Shields, who plays Elizabeth’s late husband’s mother Charlotte, will make her first WCTH appearance in 10 years.
“We’re thrilled to welcome back Brooke Shields to the WHEN CALLS THE HEART family,” Michelle Vicary, head of programming, Hallmark Media, stated. “Her first appearance on the series was memorable for our fans, and we know the Hearties will be delighted to see Charlotte’s emotional and heartwarming reunion.”
Gilbert, beloved for her iconic role on LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE, will reprise her character Georgie McGill, “a forensic accounting investigator with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police,” who first appeared on WCTH last season.
In February, she shared that she’d love to see where Georgie’s potentially romantic relationship with Bill Avery (Jack Wagner) goes.
“It’s revealed gradually over the first episode that I had a pretty intense crush on him, and I assumed he didn’t even know I existed — but the feeling was mutual,” she said. “The question now is, in this investigation and working together, are we going to fall in love? Are we going to have a romance? It’ll be fun to see how it unfolds.”
It looks like romance, family and and changing relationships are on the horizon for the Hope Valley crew!
WCTH Season 13 premieres at 8/7c on the Hallmark channel on Sunday, Jan. 4, before streaming the next day on Hallmark+.
