YouTube TV added two new sports channels to their lineup!
“In a significant boost to its streaming sports portfolio, YouTube TV has officially added NBCSN 2 and NBCSN 3 to its channel lineup, positioning these as dedicated overflow options for the newly relaunched NBC Sports Network,” CordCuttersNews reported.
The outlet continued, “This move comes just months after NBCUniversal revived the NBCSN brand in late 2025, aiming to enhance coverage of major sporting events, including the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, Italy. The additional channels are expected to handle surplus programming during high-demand periods, ensuring viewers can access live events without interruptions from the primary NBCSN feed.”

CordCuttersNews hypothesized that this will also make YouTube TV the “go-to service for sports enthusiasts,” especially ahead of the Winter Olympics.
YouTube shared their plans for more sports programming in a press release in December.
“Early next year, we’ll launch YouTube TV Plans, bringing more choice and flexibility to our subscribers with over 10 genre-specific packages,” the platform announced. “One package that we know our customers will be excited for is the YouTube TV Sports Plan.”
The Sports Plan offers subscribers “access to all the major broadcasters as well as sports networks like FS1, NBC Sports Network, all of the ESPN networks, as well as ESPN Unlimited,” with the option for add-ons like NFL Sunday Ticket and RedZone.
“Our goal is to let you tailor your subscription with more options,” the press release continued. “Whether you stick with our main YouTube TV plan with 100+ channels, focus on sports, combine sports and news, or select a plan centered on family and entertainment content, subscribers will be able to easily choose the plan that works best for them. We have a lot in store for YouTube TV members next year and can’t wait to share more soon!”
YouTube has been quietly expanding its offerings for YouTube TV subscribers. Last month, it renewed its carriage deal with Newmax in a multiyear deal.
“This agreement keeps Newsmax, the fastest growing cable network in the U.S., on YouTube TV, the fastest growing pay TV platform in the U.S., for years to come,” Andy Biggers, Newsmax’s Senior Vice President of Distribution, said of the deal.
He continued, “YouTube TV have been great partners, and we look forward to continuing to grow together.”
With the addition of these new sports channels, YouTube TV is becoming a major player in the world of sports streaming.
