However, anyone facing trials and tribulations should see LONG SHOT to understand that no mater what their limitations are, they can overcome.

The movie opens with Kevin standing by his father’s grave. He never felt his father was proud of him. Kevin lost his left arm in the womb because the umbilical cord wrapped around his arm, which kept him from being strangled. He’s focused all his life on being a great basketball player. He is tall, thin and athletic, but who wants to give a one-armed basketball player a chance? When Kevin does get a chance, however, he excels. Finally, in a last ditch effort, Kevin goes to a military academy back East known for its basketball program. He almost goes AWOL because the Academy is so difficult, but finally decides to continue. At the end of the year, before he graduates, each of his teammates has a scholarship to a Division One team. Only Kevin hasn’t been picked, even though the coach has called all the best teams personally.
