REMARKABLY BRIGHT CREATURES, a drama streaming on Netflix, tells the story of an unlikely pair — Tova, an older woman who cleans an aquarium at night, and Cameron, her new co-worker who searches for his birth father. A mischievous octopus brings them together as they forge a strong bond and teach each other the importance of connection.

Tova enjoys her job as an aquarium cleaner and spends her nights talking to Marcellus, an octopus who escapes his tank regularly. When she sprains her ankle, Cameron, a newcomer to town, takes over her duties. The pair clashes initially but soon becomes friends, with Tova aiding him in his search for his birth father.

As Tova struggles to decide whether to leave her town and move to an assisted living community, she and Cameron grow closer, teaching each other important lessons about friendship, community, and opening up to all of life’s gifts.
