SPIDER-MAN 2 is terrifically entertaining, with lots of action, amazing special effects, a few unexpected plot twists, and a redemptive Christian worldview with very strong moral values and a provocative theme on the nature of, and need for, sacrificial heroism.

LADDER 49 is a bighearted, entertaining and poignant movie that would have benefited by some script doctoring. In the midst of a movie that contains a lot of references to church, faith and Jesus, some of the slight cautions are the foul language and brief premarital sex where nothing is shown. Even so, it’s refreshing to see a movie with so much faith and values.

The film THE REMAINS OF THE DAY relates the story of a proper, repressed English butler who finds the love of his life but fails to win her. The movie contains excellent performances by Anthony Hopkins as Stevens, the butler, and Emma Thompson as the housekeeper. James Ivory's direction and Ruth Prawer Jhabvala's imaginative narrative are also commendable.
