LARRY THE CABLE GUY: HEALTH INSPECTOR

What You Need To Know:

LARRY THE CABLE GUY: HEALTH INSPECTOR is a comedy about a redneck health assessor assigned to investigate an outbreak of mysterious food poisonings in several restaurants. Larry spends his days on the job monitoring the city’s low-end greasy spoons, but his laid-back world is rudely interrupted when he’s asked to train his new partner, an uptight rookie Larry mistakenly believes to be a man. They are assigned an important case, which requires them to investigate the sudden occurrences of food contamination at the most exclusive eateries.

If Hollywood wants to continue its decline at the box office, this movie will serve as the perfect case study on which to base future projects. Much like Jim Carey’s role in ACE VENTURA: PET DETECTIVE, this movie is merely an excuse for a star comedian to perform his stand-up routine within the context of a movie. Unfortunately, unlike ACE VENTURA, this movie never even flirts with the possibility of being funny. With offensive humor, a pagan worldview, excessive foul language, and an embarrassing lack of redemptive elements, LARRY THE CABLE GUY: HEALTH INSPECTOR is dreadful movie that media-wise moviegoers probably will want to avoid.

Content:

(PaPa, LLL, V, S, N, AA, D, MM) Strong pagan worldview in which each character pursues personal pleasure; at least 42 obscenities and 11 profanities; mild slapstick violence; several crude sexual jokes implying fornication and masturbation; brief upper male nudity and several shots of women’s cleavage and upper portion of man’s rear; several scenes of alcohol use and one scene of alcohol abuse; several scenes of character using smokeless tobacco; and, extensive rude behavior, deception and disrespect to elderly people.

More Detail:

LARRY THE CABLE GUY: HEALTH INSPECTOR is a painfully bad movie about a redneck health assessor assigned to investigate an outbreak of mysterious food poisonings in several of his city’s restaurants.

Beaming with hillbilly pride, stand-up comedian and Jeff Foxworthy sidekick Larry the Cable Guy plays an obnoxious health inspector comfortable with his job monitoring the city’s low-end greasy spoons. While not on the clock, Larry enjoys recreational activities typical of the redneck stereotype, including drinking beer, chewing smokeless tobacco, playing with guns, frequenting strip bars, and driving his big-wheeled truck. Larry’s laid-back world is rudely interrupted, however, when he’s asked to train his new partner Amy (Iris Bahr), an uptight rookie Larry mistakenly believes to be a man. To make matters more complicated, the two are assigned an important high-profile case, which requires them to investigate the sudden occurrences of food contamination at the city’s most exclusive eateries.

Much like Jim Carey’s role in ACE VENTURA: PET DETECTIVE, this movie is merely an excuse for a star comedian to perform his stand-up routine within the context of a movie. The audience is fully aware of this and will be quick to overlook whatever deficiencies the story may have (this one has many) if it succeeds in making them laugh. Unfortunately, LARRY THE CABLE GUY: HEALTH INSPECTOR never even flirts with the possibility of being funny.

If the Hollywood machine wishes to continue its steady decline at the box office, this movie will serve as the perfect case study on which to base future projects. With offensive and crude humor, a pagan worldview, excessive foul language, and an embarrassing lack of redemptive elements, LARRY THE CABLE GUY: HEALTH INSPECTOR is dreadful. Discerning media-wise moviegoers probably will want to avoid this movie.
