MARTIN LAWRENCE LIVE: RUNTELDAT

What You Need To Know:

The barrage of foul language and crass sexual imagery that MARTIN LAWRENCE LIVE: RUNTELDAT throws at you is not worth weeding through for any nuggets of truth Martin might be able to drudge up in between. This is not a video for family viewing, let alone for anyone of good conscience who is committed to sanctifying themselves for God's purposes.

Content:

(B, FR, LLL, SS, DD, M) Tainted moral worldview with antinomian streak where stand-up comedian thanks God for his ability to bring people comedy, says he is honestly blessed, tells people to honor the elderly, promotes disciplinary spanking over "time-outs" that have "ruined kids," says, "You are not promised tomorrow. Be grateful and ride this MF until the wheels fall off," honors Martin Luther King for his non violent stance, talks of his highly publicized rampage while high on dope, tells of his highly publicized fist fight in a club, and then after telling of his self-destructive spree, he blames the devil for trying to kill him and gives God "glory" for bringing him back, and about the bad publicity after the drugs and fight, he says "I'm only human. If I get crucified for being human, so be it"; about 390 obscenities (250 "f" words), four strong profanities (GD), 32 curses, and 141 Vulgarities (including 44 references to male and female genitals); comedian tells women he'll get back to them based on the smell of the panties he invites them to throw on stage, says how tough it is to have sex after his wife had a baby, speaks of having sexual relations with woman who has unknowingly started her period, talks of masturbation and sexual petting, and warns against sadomasochistic sex, saying "that is not making love"; no alcohol; discussion of drugs; and, miscellaneous immorality.

More Detail:

The barrage of foul language and crass sexual imagery that MARTIN LAWRENCE LIVE: RUNTELDAT throws at viewers is not worth weeding through for any nuggets of truth Martin might be able to drudge up in between. He honors God with his lips, then immediately, with those same lips, spews words and imagery that would make a prostitute blush. Not only does this concert movie contain more than 500 obscenities, profanities and vulgarities, it also contains some explicit sexual references. There is also some discussion of his former drug addiction that got him into trouble with the law. The theme of Martin Lawrence’s show is summed up in his own words: “You are not promised tomorrow. Ride this MF ’til the wheels fall off.”

RUNTELDAT is supposed to be Martin’s triumphant return to the stage after surviving bad drugs, bad decisions and heat stroke. If he was as grateful to God as he says he is, he might try surrendering his life to the God that seems, in His sovereignty, to have spared him.

This is not a video for family viewing, let alone for anyone of good conscience who is committed to sanctifying themselves for God’s purposes.
