Hearties, We’ve Got Some Bad News…

Sorry, Hearties — you’ll have to wait until 2027 for new episodes of WHEN CALLS THE HEART!

“2027 can’t come soon enough, #Hearties! 💛,” a post on the show’s official Instagram account announced. “There’s so much in store for the next season of WHEN CALLS THE HEART. What are you most looking forward to?”

Fans of the show have a while to wait, but there are already a few hints about what viewers can expect from WHEN CALLS THE HEART’s fourteenth season, including the return of a very special cast member: Lori Loughlin.

“Since the series’ debut in 2014, the character of Abigail Stanton was a fan favorite and beloved by the Hearties,” Michelle Vicary, Head of Programming, Hallmark Media, said in a statement. “At its core, the Hallmark brand is about hope, positivity, and connection, which is also the central theme of WHEN CALLS THE HEART. We felt that Season 14 was the right time to continue Abigail’s story with her return to this beloved series.”

Additionally, Hearties can expect to see the continuation of Elizabeth and Nathan’s romance, as well as the aftermath of Lucas’ decision to step down as governor.

“I’m excited as I peek in right now for Season 14 — it is as fun and epic as this season,” WHEN CALLS THE HEART creator Brian Bird told Parade. “The audience needs to buckle up and not get too comfortable with Nathan and Elizabeth — because there is more coming.”

Bird also spoke about the power of the Hearties, saying, “Michael [Landon Jr., co-creator] and I love all of the writers and are humbled, blessed, and amazed at how the audience has responded to these shows. With my faith and family legacy, we are trying to launch a good show that offers the kind of content that we believe in. We don’t take any of it for granted. As long as you [the Hearties and other viewers] keep showing up, we will keep making this content for you.”

“We believed we were making something good,” he said of the show’s beginnings. “We also knew that the odds were against us being successful. Because in general, it is so hard to launch a new show and find a way to break through all the noise.”

Thirteen seasons later, WHEN CALLS THE HEART is going stronger than ever, with fans all around the world.

“What other show can say in Season 13 that it’s getting better?” he added. “Sometimes you feel you are losing steam, but we don’t feel that way about WCTH; it’s only growing and building with each new chapter.”
