AGENT CODY BANKS

Watch:

What You Need To Know:

AGENT CODY BANKS is a slickly produced action movie that is full of enough adult-like sensuality to make it a "gateway drug" to the full-fledged, sexualized Bond movies. Parents should use discernment as to whether they want to endorse the planting of suggestive seeds of sexuality and parental disrespect into their children's minds.

Content:

(Pa, B, L, VV, S, N, M) Pagan worldview with some moral elements; 10-year-old boy says "crap" and has mouth covered by his mother before he can finish saying, "Holy Sh**", driver's-ed teacher throws up (off camera) after rough ride, dog pees on man's shoe, and someone passes gas in crowded van; feathers fly as villain kicks duck, girl roughly kidnapped, wrestling, man is hurt and dragged off screen screaming, bully receives severe shock from a spy watch, boy hits thugs in head with frying pans during fight, boy punched in face (seen from his point of view), boy's bruised face shown after fight, thug's rear set on fire, explosions, man eaten from inside out by nanobots (not gory. . . he just slowly disappears), men fall through glass and electrical lines, man punched in crotch, and plenty of hand to hand combat; woman wrestles boy and begins to suffocate him by pulling his face into her clothed breasts, boy tries to stand on platform with woman with his face to her breasts. . . she makes him turn around, woman pulls one towel away and snaps the boy with it (nothing seen), 10 year-old-boy makes reference to playing doctor with girls, while briefing his staff on the pretty blonde girl that is a CIA target, man says, "I want to get close to this girl" (played for innuendo), man unzips Ronica's top to reveal clothed breasts (with a little cleavage) and says, "No place for a gun in there"; woman wears tight, cleavage and midriff baring outfits, boys in locker room wear only towels around waist, boy uses low penetration x-ray sunglasses to look at girls' sexy underwear (seen in negative color), and earlier he checks out an associate and she quickly covers her breasts; and, extortion and children show disrespect toward clueless parents.

More Detail:

AGENT CODY BANKS is a slickly produced action movie that seems intent on taking the SPY KIDS audience to the next level. It contains enough adult-oriented innuendo to make it a “gateway drug” to the full-fledged, sexualized Bond films.

Cody Banks (Frankie Muniz) is an unassuming 15-year-old who has been trained as a CIA junior agent at a secret summer camp. He is called into action by the sexy Ronica Miles (Angie Harmon) and is assigned to make contact with Natalie Conners (Hilary Duff), the beautiful blonde daughter of a scientist. Arch-villain Brinkman (Ian McShane), and his henchman, Molay (Arnold Vosloo), are extorting her father into creating microscopic “nanobots” that can be programmed to destroy the world.

Cody has been trained to be a super agent: he can drive well, he can fight, he can snow board…, but he cannot get a word out of his mouth in the presence of a pretty girl, which predicament provides the comedic platform. Cody is transferred to the private school the girl attends and proceeds to attempt to make contact with her. Can Cody overcome his insecurities around women quickly enough to befriend Natalie and find out exactly what her father, the scientist, is doing? Will Cody save the world?

While there is plenty of James-Bond-like action, gadgets, and special effects, there is also equally as many Bond-ish sexual references and innuendos. While preteens may find it very entertaining to see someone their age saving the world, parents should use discernment as to whether they want to endorse the planting of suggestive seeds of sexuality and parental disrespect into their children’s minds.
