In the 1980’s, Lu and others became inspired and encouraged by freedom seekers. When these freedon seekers are arrested and imprisoned, Lu and his cohorts stage a hunger strike in Tiananmen square. The Communist government decides the only way to remove them is through martial law. Chaos ensues, many innocent people are slaughtered and Lu and his friends become fugitives.
