More Detail:

CB4 is an immature comedy about rap music that blends foul language, delinquent behavior and sexual immorality into one ill-conceived and badly executed film. The story follows three cocky, black teenagers who shun their middle class upbringing to form a “gangster” rap trio. The rest of the story follows the group’s rise to stardom, and their showdown with the real gangster whose name and attitude they have stolen to create their pop image.

Produced, written by and starring comedian Chris Rock, a “Saturday Night live” regular, CB4 parodies rap music in the same way SPINAL TAP parodied heavy metal. However, it blatantly embraces the very topics it mocks, and, the filmmakers appear to be using their film to cash in on the phenomenon. One of their main focuses is the bashing of main stream American values. In summary, CB4 is more than a waste of time, this “comedy” glorifies anti-hero rappers at the same time that it mocks them. Besides the large number of obscenities, tasteless sexual jokes, demeaning racial stereotypes, and hostility towards women, this film sends the basic message that rap music is great and should be a model for our youth to emulate. This message deserves to be missed.
