ALIEN 3

What You Need To Know:

In ALIENS 3, Lt. Ellen Ripley crash-lands on a futuristic prison planet inhabited by a celibate brotherhood of bald convicts and an alien who craves human blood. The movie lacks a coherent storyline, action and dialogue as it meanders aimlessly into a climatic alien hunt. Adults know this isn't real, but many of the children at the press screening weren't so sure as their guardians cheered as the alien devoured humans.

Content:

(LLL, VVV, S, A/D, M, Ab) 100 obscenities & 7 profanities; approximately 10 murders/deaths, men slimed by alien and eaten alive, people falling into vat, fist fights, brutal rape attempt, audible details of graphic autopsy, chase scenes, explosions, & android-human oozes milky liquid when brought back to life; implied fornication; injecting woman with syringe & use of unnecessary anti-pain drugs; pro-euthanasia messages & anti-government messages; and, out-of-context Christian statements.

More Detail:

In ALIENS 3, Lt. Ellen Ripley crash-lands on a futuristic prison planet inhabited by a celibate brotherhood of bald convicts and an alien who craves human blood. To destroy the alien, the crew leads it through an underground maze to a toxic waste chamber. However, the beast has a few tricks up its acid veins. Aside from Lt. Ripley, there is Otto, a morphine-addicted doctor with whom she fornicates, and Dillon, a murderer turned preacher. As soon as the alien is revealed, their religion disappears, and the pseudo-monks degenerate into foul language and fear. The most intriguing character is Bishop, a half-human-android pulled out of the trash and revived. Since his brain cells are corroded, he says: “Do me a favor. Disconnect me.”

Thus, ALIENS 3 implies that euthanasia is good. In contrast, God’s word says life is in the hands of our Sovereign creator (Psalm 139:13-16). ALIEN 3 also contains an anti-government message and lacks a coherent storyline, action and dialogue, as it meanders aimlessly into a climatic alien hunt. Adults know this isn’t real, but many of the children at the press screening weren’t so sure when their guardians cheered as the alien devoured humans.
