MEET THE BLACKS

"Purge This Movie from Your Must-See Checklist"

What You Need To Know:

MEET THE BLACKS is a comedy spoof of THE PURGE horror movies. Carl Black, an African American home wiring expert, moves his family from Chicago to a Beverly Hills mansion. Narrating the story, Carl has stolen piles of money and marijuana from a local drug dealer who’s been arrested. He thinks moving his family to wealthy Beverly Hills will protect him and his family from the coming purge night, where the law allows any criminal activity with no threat of arrest or jail time. However, when his Chicago creditors and his neighbors start to attack them, Carl and his family must figure out a way to survive.

The laughs are very few and far between in MEET THE BLACKS. There’s little structure to the plot or the dialogue. The movie also has abundant foul language, lots of brutal deaths placed in a phony comical context containing some crude references. MEET THE BLACKS is an unacceptable, poorly made attempt at humorous entertainment. MOVIEGUIDE® remembers a time when comedy spoofs like this were really funny, though sometimes too crude. That time is long gone.

The laughs are few and far between in MEET THE BLACKS, the plot and dialogue sleep inducing and cringe-worthy, and the content extremely crude and offensive, though not as sexually explicit as some other comedy spoofs these days.
