This Avenger Wrapped His Final Movie for The Marvel Franchise

By Tess Farrand, Staff Writer

Since Marvel Studios launched in 2008, Stan Lee’s characters have captured our attention with pizzazz and action. However, one beloved member of the Avenger team is signing off and taking his shield with him.

Chris Evans, who plays Captain American tweeted yesterday morning about his emotional goodbye from the Marvel movies, announcing that he’s finished filming reshoots in the untitled fourth AVENGERS movie.

Evans’ debut as Captain America/Steve Rogers came in the 2011 movie, CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER. After a roaring success with the IRON MAN movies, Evans hopped on the bandwagon with Marvel, helping lead the way to form the Avengers.

Evans played Captain America in six Marvels movies and had cameos in a couple more. Some comic book fans have theorized that the fourth AVENGERS movie will follow a storyline in the comics where Captain America/Steve Rogers dies, and someone else has to take up his shield. Only time will tell.

In a tweet earlier in September he alluded to his final Avenger movie by saying, “Senior year #A4”

“This nation was founded on one principle above all else: the requirement that we stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds or consequences.” – Captain America
