MyPillow’s Christian CEO Making Masks For Health Care Workers

By Allyson Vannatta, Staff Writer

Mike Lindell, MyPillow CEO, announced Friday that his company has decided to start making face masks to help health care workers fight against the coronaviurs.

Lindell cited his passion to help others as one of the reasons he wanted to do this.

He appeared on AMERICA’S NEWSROOM to announce the news.

Lindell said,

We started then to find out what we could make. We worked with the administration. They have a coalition to what kind of masks are need out there. Obviously, we specialize in cotton and we found out different materials that they didn’t want — latex…and stuff. So, finally, we got the final prototype three days ago. …

And, we’re doing the shipping. I’m shipping them out. That’s what we do at MyPillow. So, a lot of this just fell right in line with what we do. And, I’ve also switched over other companies. I want every other manufacturer — see what you can do out there.

The founder said it took three days to convert the 200,000-square-foot factory into a place that produces masks. MyPillow is making around 10,000 masks a day right now, but the goal is to make 50,000 a day.

All of Lindell’s factories across the U.S. are converting to do their part to help stop the spread of the deadly virus.

He said the people working in his factories work eight hours a day and are able to produce anywhere from 100 to 120 masks a day, as they sew the masks by hand.

The company is also implementing proper health precautions like workers being 6 feet apart.

Lindell concluded,

“So, the goal is [to make] as many as we can make. And, I want to continue into the future — once this ends — we want, like the president says, we want our manufacturers here in the USA. Especially, we’ve learned, our medical supplies. We don’t want 90 percent coming in from overseas. We want to make them right here and we’re going to learn from this.”

Kudos to Lindell and other businesses who are using their facilities to serve!
