SPIDER-MAN’s Tom Holland Kept His Promise to Real-Life Hero, 6-Year-Old Who Saved His Younger Sister

SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME actor Tom Holland kept his promise to a young fan who saved his sister after a dog attacked his little sister.

In July 2020, Holland invited the young boy named Bridger to the set of SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME after the boy suffered injuries while defending his 4-year-old sister from a German Shepherd attack.

Movieguide® previously reported on Bridger’s heroics, which earned a nod of respect from other Avengers, as well:

A variety of Hollywood heroes sent Bridger Walker, age 6, messages of encouragement after he sacrificed himself to save his younger sister from a dog attack. Walker’s protective instincts kicked in as he shielded his four-year-old sister from the attack, suffering injuries to the face and head that required 90 stitches and a two-hour surgery.

After getting bitten several times, Walker continued to protect his sister, grabbing her hand and running alongside her to keep her safe.

“If someone had to die, I thought it should be me,” Walker told his Aunt Nikki, who posted his inspiring story of sacrifice on Instagram.

“My nephew is a hero who saved his little sister from an attacking dog. He, himself, took on the attack so that the dog wouldn’t get his sister,” Nikki said on Instagram. “He got home from the hospital last night. I know it’s a long shot, but I’m reaching out to the Avengers and other heroes so that they can learn about this latest addition to their ranks.”

Bridger’s father, Robert, recently wrote an Instagram post highlighting the trip to set.

“Remember when [Tom Holland] promised Bridger he could come to the filming of Spider-Man? He delivered!” the father wrote. “First, a huge thank you to Tom, @harryholland64, @zendaya, and the entire Marvel/Sony cast and crew for this dream-come-true adventure.

“When we first arrived on set, I was a little apprehensive that once the ‘curtain was pulled back’ that the magic of the movies would be lost for the kids. The opposite was true! Tom, Zendaya, Harry, @lifeisaloha, @tonyrevolori, and the entire cast/crew made our kids feel like stars. ✨ They don’t just act the part of friendly neighborhood heroes – that’s what they truly are,” he added. “The look on the kids’ faces was priceless when we rounded the blue-screen to see Tom, in full costume, high above the set on a light post. It was emotional to see him waive at the kids like he was the one that was supposed to be excited – not the other way around.”

The grateful father also noted that SPIDER-MAN co-star Zendaya reached out to the Walker family during their visit.

“Tom and Zendaya came over. I will never forget the grace and kindness they showed our children. Zendaya immediately approached my teenage daughter and told her how much she loved her nails,” he added. “I don’t know if she will ever know how much that simple act means to me – to see my sweet daughter light up with self-confidence and joy.”

“Thank you again to everyone who played some role in Bridger’s special day ‘hanging’ with Spider-Man,” the post concluded.
