Tom Brady Does Not Want to Lose Sight of What Is Important: ‘Being a Good Dad, Having a Good Family’

Future NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady played 20 seasons with the New England Patriots and won six super bowls.

In 2020, Brady went to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and led them to a Super Bowl win in 2021, making him the winningest QB in NFL history.

After the 2022 season, Brady initially announced his retirement. However, soon after his retirement announcement, Brady reversed his decision and said he would play in the upcoming season.

Recently, the three-time MVP-winning quarterback announced another return—but this time for a feature-length movie.

The new movie, called 80 FOR BRADY, will highlight Brady’s 2017 Super Bowl run as a member of the New England Patriots.

Variety reported:

Brady wears his famous blue-and-white jersey, face paint and a near buzz cut, all for a scene in which he re-creates one of his biggest comebacks. (He overcame the Atlanta Falcons’ 28-3 lead to pull out a victorious career-defining shocker.) The Paramount Pictures comedy, from director and co-writer Kyle Marvin, will open in theaters in 2023 and follows a quartet of octogenarian fans — played by Sally Field, Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno and Lily Tomlin — who travel to Houston to root for their favorite sports idol. Think “Book Club,” but with Tom Brady.

At 44 years old, Brady has spent more time reflecting on his career, family and future.

Despite his following, Brady still champions his family as his most outstanding achievement, which he often talks about on his social media.

“If you look at my social, I want that to be fun and reflective. I want people to enjoy it,” he told Variety. “Lives are hard. I feel like I’m the kid who grew up in San Mateo, Calif., that found something I love to do. And it came with a lot of other stuff. Trying to manage and juggle that is my own unique challenge in my life — and to not lose touch with what’s really important, which is being a good dad, having a good family. And then the things I’m doing — committing to my team — I want to be good in those things too.”

Although Brady is arguably the best quarterback to play in the history of the NFL, he said that his greatest achievement is his family.

“Our family is my greatest achievement. I always came off the field and home to the most loving and supportive wife who has done everything for our family to allow me to focus on my career. Her selflessness allowed me to reach new heights professionally, and I am beyond words what you mean to me and our family,” he said.

Brady and his wife Gisele Bündchen share daughter Vivian Lake, 9, and son Benjamin Rein, 12. Brady also is a father to son John “Jack” Edward, 14, with ex Bridget Moynahan.
