Chase Rice Describes Past Jobs, From NASCAR to Reality TV: ‘I’ve Lived A Very, Very Blessed Life’

Chase Rice is famous for his career as a country music star, but did you know the singer held a few other interesting jobs before making it big?

“I’ve lived a very, very blessed life, and a lot of things — some things — just fall in my way, which is awesome,” he told Fox News Digital. “At the end of the day, I’ve also worked extremely hard for many of those successes to come my way.”

Rice played football in college and was ready to go pro, when an injury derailed his sports dreams. After that, he pivoted to a different sport: NASCAR races.

Rice worked for Hendrick Motorsports as a pit crew member for a time, then accepted a spot on SURVIVOR: NICARAGUA.

“I wanted the adventure, and that was cool,” he explained of his decision to appear on the reality show. “But that also led me to being able to have the funds … to move to Nashville and start writing songs.”

“That was my dream and also being on an island for 40 days, not having a whole lot to do, allows you a lot of time to think,” Rice shared. “That was when I really realized that I want to chase this dream. It’s a dream that was far from reality and somehow became reality.”

Becoming a country music star doesn’t mean Rice has cut down on his adventures.

Rice trained as a firefighter as part of the “Protect our Protectors” campaign and worked alongside the Wildland Firefighter Foundation.

He is also continuing to work on his music, calling his upcoming album “completely different” than anything he’s done before.

“I wanted to go back to just me and a guitar because I think that’s just what I’m best at. And so we wrote all these songs just on acoustic guitar,” Rice shared. His fans can’t wait to hear his new music!
