HGTV’s Jenny Marrs Shares ‘Sweetest Reminder of God’s Abundant Faithfulness’

By Movieguide® Staff

HGTV’s Jenny Marrs lives out her faith on and off the screen, praising God’s “abundant faithfulness” in a recent Instagram post.

“Yesterday, a post popped up on my memories honoring and remembering the long, hard journey we walked toward parenthood. And, today, I realized that the trail we decided to race down was the very same one I used to run day after day during the hardest years. I cried so many tears on these sidewalks. And, then we moved across town and I hardly ever visited this place,” the FIXER TO FABULOUS matriarch wrote.

“Until today. I just so happened upon it with my five little bugs who ran, scootered and skated alongside me. It was the sweetest reminder of God’s abundant faithfulness,” she continued.

“I’m sharing this because of exactly what I wrote years ago: I know someone reading these words is in what feels like an impossible and hopeless situation. If I could go back thirteen years and tell my younger self anything, I would say: just hold on, your story isn’t over yet. There is so much good in store. Keep on fighting for joy. Keep on believing and trusting and – no matter what comes your way – don’t ever, ever give up hope. Stand strong on this truth: God can do the impossible,” Marrs concluded.

Marrs shares five children with her husband, Dave, including adopted daughter Sylvie.

Marrs previously opened up about the adoption process, saying she “bore witness to a miracle”:

On this day, 8 years ago, I bore witness to a miracle. An honest to goodness God-sized, Red-Sea-parting kind of miracle …

Hope had nearly been lost. Despair had slowly seeped in. We had no way of knowing if our daughter would ever be back in our arms. 602 days of waiting, 602 days of praying and pleading and calling Congressmen and Senators and flying over the sea to beg the US Embassy to help. Emails and letters and phone calls with no traction toward getting her home left us depleted.

Make no mistake – a battle took place to bring our daughter home. The exhale that took place when she was back in my arms on US soil was echoed in heaven. The spiritual battle that I couldn’t see during those long days and nights was finally over.

I post this photo every year on this day to remember. I never want to forget the way the Lord fought on our behalf. The things He has in store for Sylvie must certainly leave the enemy shaking in fear or else he wouldn’t have worked so tirelessly to keep her from us.

It’s hard to believe eight years have passed since this day when our family was finally under the same roof.
