Nathan Scoggins Remembers Anne Heche In Touching Post: ‘I Hope She Found Some Grace And Peace Along The Way’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Writer, producer, and director Nathan Scoggins is mourning the death of his friend Anne Heche, who passed away in August.

Scoggins shared videos and photos of the pair on the set of WHAT REMAINS, which wrapped in 2021, captioning it “The Anne I knew.”

His captioned continued:

It was day one of her days on WHAT REMAINS, and after a take I ran in and whispered in her ear, “just remember that you do the most interesting stuff when you do nothing at all.”

.

She smirked and said “can you tell that to the New York Times?” — a question that betrayed the pain of decades of her struggles laid out in newspapers and tabloids.

.

That was the first of a number of extraordinary days on set with @anneheche .

.

Working with her was exhausting and exhilarating at the same time. She came to the set with a quicksilver energy — you felt lucky to catch it. Sometimes it was work, but most days you just sat there in awe. She was that good.

Scoggins also shared a story about the pair singing “Be Still and Know That I Am God” together while working on the movie.

“She found them on our set — moments of Grace, moments to just be,” he continued. “Moments where she felt cared for and cared about, respected as an artist and as a person, where she could do extraordinary work.”

“She lived her life on the move, tragically in many ways — on the run from demons and struggles that I only learned a little about in our times together,” Scoggins concluded. “I hope she found some grace and peace along the way. I miss you Anne. Be still now, and know.”
