Tamela Mann Celebrates God’s Blessings: ‘With God’s Help, All Things Are Possible’

From starring in new movies, to releasing new music, Tamela Mann is ready to conquer the entertainment world with her Gospel centered music!
The Grammy Award-winning gospel artist recently opened up about her new projects, and how God has steered her toward blessing.
Mann is set to star in the upcoming movie version of the musical THE COLOR PURPLE, and a very big name was the one to push for Mann to appear in the movie: Oprah Winfrey.
“She was like, ‘This needs to be Tamela Mann. … Some people haven’t heard of you, but I felt like they need to hear from you,'” she shared. “I just got chills right now. The honor of how the Lord just used her to speak on my behalf.”
Mann has been working in Hollywood for years, but this movie will be one of her biggest roles yet. The actress said she is grateful for her opportunity “to serve,” and to have a door opened for her in the entertainment industry.
“Sometimes we do feel like doors are not open enough or doors get shut in our faces, which sometimes when the door gets closed it’s not always bad,” she explained. “A lot of times [opportunities are] allowed to close because it’s not for you at that time.”
In addition to THE COLOR PURPLE, Mann has a deluxe version of her album, Overcomer, coming out soon.
“I feel like I’m bringing some hope; I’m bringing some inspiration to people,” she said. “And I know those words have been used before, but I really believe, and my hope is that the songs just really dig real deep in us that we can finish what God has started in us. That we can complete the work that He’s doing in us.”
Mannc continued, “I’m looking through my eyes back on all the things God has brought me through, and all the doors He’s opened for me. That’s why we’re talking about overcoming things, obstacles in our lives that we can complete and overcome. With God’s help, all things are possible. So that’s what we’re talking about in the deluxe — that we truly can overcome!”
“I’m so excited to honestly just be a child of the King I am,” the actress concluded. “And that I can declare that I can overcome, that I can achieve, and that’s what I want people to know. We don’t have to walk around with a whole bunch of heavy burdens. Things are going to happen, but we don’t have to just carry it around and it just lay on our faces and on our shoulders. We can cast our cares on the Lord, and I’m excited that we can be overcomers.”

In a recent interview with Guideposts, Gospel singer Tamela Mann opened up about her favorite Bible verse and the best advice she’s ever received.
Mann is all about positive thinking and relies on the truth found in scripture and prayer.
Mann said her favorite Bible verses are Matthew 19:26 and Mark 9:23, which she often remembers together.
“‘With God, all things are possible to them that believe,’ which is actually a combination of two verses (Matthew 19:26 and Mark 9:23),” she wrote. “The Lord responds through our faith. When I started believing for an answer to what I prayed, I could see my prayers coming to life.”
Mann also cited her husband as her “real-life superman… He gives me accountability when I’m wrong, to better myself. He has helped me to become the Tamela I am today, with God’s help.”
Prayer is an integral part of Mann’s daily routine. Mann said she tries to fill her time alone in the car with prayer and thanksgiving.
“Prayer is like therapy for me,” Mann said. “I can express myself to God and talk with him. I know that even if he doesn’t answer right away, he’s working. He speaks to my heart through his word, songs and even other people. Sometimes he uses time or another person to give me confirmation about my prayers or see the answer that I’m looking for when I can’t see it for myself.”
Mann gave out some good advice in her interview, but what about the best advice she’s received?
“Change the things that are within your power to change, and don’t worry about the things you can’t change,” the singer shared.
