Dude Perfect to Build Entertainment Destination For Families

By Movieguide® Staff

Dude Perfect, a group of sports fans made famous by their viral basketball trick shots, recently announced plans for a family-friendly entertainment destination at their new headquarters.

The YouTube creators—five longtime friends—boast 58 million subscribers.

Dude Perfect’s new building will include a museum, mini golf, a merch store, restaurants, and 2 acres of outdoor space for activities, Variety reported.

The HQ will help the group “manifest their digital brand into a physical destination designed to excite and engage visitors and fans,” the company said in a statement.

“The dynamic 330-foot canted tower projects from the site as a vertical expression of the brand known for their impossible shots,” San Antonio architecture firm Overland Partners described the project. “Inside, visitors will get to try their hand at the impossible shot as they ascend through a series of floors leading up to the top of the tower, surrounded by city views. Encapsulated by the sweeping fabric structure, the iconic tower will be a focal beacon of Dude Perfect.”

Dued Perfect is comprised of Tyler Toney, Cody Jones, Garrett Hilbert, and twins Coby and Cory Cotton, who currently reside in Frisco, Texas.

Dude Perfect uploaded their first-ever trick shot video in 2009, which currently nears 15 billion views on YouTube.

The group’s mission statement on their website reads: “We’re about giving back, spreading joy and glorifying Jesus Christ.”

In their 2020 documentary, DUDE PERFECT: BACKSTAGE PASS, the group said that Christ is the foundation of their lives.

“Faith is really the underlying principle and theme behind everything Dude Perfect does,” Tyler Toney says in the documentary, according to Sports Spectrum.

“Making content that was family-friendly came initially from our faith in Jesus, and we felt like that was something we really, truly wanted to do,” Coby added.

Although the group of friends did not believe that their trick shot endeavors would turn into a full-time job for them, a camera crew and editing team, Garrett said that the Lord immediately started to bless their efforts in 2009.

“The Lord just took it to new levels,” Garrett recalled. “Deals just started flooding in. … It was like, ‘Boom, quit (your other job). This is what you were called to do. Do it.”

“God had a way bigger plan for Dude Perfect than we could have ever imagined … to do Dude Perfect and to use this platform that He’s given us to make His name great and to honor Him through this, and to just proclaim His name as much as we can, and live a life that’s glorifying to Him,” he added.

“I put the full weight of my life on Jesus and I have given the rest of my life to Him, trusting that He has great plans for my life, and that He knows better than I do,” Coby continued.

“There is something more to life, and His name is Jesus. If you’ll put your hope in Jesus, He’s the answer. He just is,” Cory said.
