Kirk Franklin Joins Jonas Brothers Onstage For Gospel-Inspired SNL Performance

By Movieguide® Contributor

The Jonas Brothers brought along some very special guests for their recent stint as the musical guest on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE.

Christian singer Kirk Franklin and Jon Bellion joined the band for a gospel-inspired version of their single “Walls.”

Franklin led a choir in the back of the performance before grabbing a microphone and joining in himself.

“Walls” is one of two singles the Jonas Brothers have released in the run-up to the release of their sixth studio album The Album

Movieguide® previously reported on another recent TV appearance from Franklin:

Kirk Franklin took THE VIEW to church with Maverick City Music in a recent performance on the popular talk show. By the end of their set, Whoopi Goldberg even joined the worship song, breaking out in dance as the group lifted high the name of Jesus.

“Lord, let your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Until everyone’s free, no one is free,” Franklin said before launching into the song.

“Kingdom” is the lead single off the group’s recent album, Kingdom Book One.

The lyrics go:

(Ooh)

Lord let Your will be done on Earth

(Ooh) as it is in Heaven

(Ooh) help us to love and see each other

(Ooh) the way You love and see us

Come on …

Thine is the Kingdom (yep!)

The power the glory (yep!)

Forever and ever (yep!)

He finished my story (yeah!)

We’re singing freedom

Our testimony (say it y’all)

We’ll be singing forever, amen

In addition to performing on several talk shows, the Christian group also sang at the Grammys and led worship on top of the building.
