Variety and the History Channel have announced their fourth annual VARIETY SALUTE TO SERVICE to honor the “service and heroism of our nation’s veterans.”

“VARIETY SALUTE TO SERVICE profiles extraordinary veterans who now continue to give back to communities and support other veterans through an array of initiatives. The one-hour special also showcases companies and non-profit organizations that help veterans transition to civilian careers and pursuits,” Variety reported.

The History Channel shared a brief description of the program:

“In its fourth consecutive year, The History Channel and Variety present a moving Veteran’s Day one-hour special, honoring the indomitable spirit of U.S. Military Veterans. This year’s ‘Variety Salute to Service,’ hosted by the charismatic Navy veteran Montel Williams, spotlights valiant individuals who, beyond their military duties, have profoundly impacted their community’s post-active service. Featured heroes this year include former Green Beret and NFL long-snapper, Nate Boyer, who spearheads a program linking former athletes with veterans, and ex-Army Sergeant Christy Gardner, founder of a non-profit dedicated to training service dogs for injured and disabled veterans. This riveting special underscores The History Channel’s enduring dedication to our nation’s military heroes and their families.”

“The History Channel has had an enduring commitment to honoring our nation’s veterans and military families,” said Paul Buccieri, President and Chairman, A+E Networks Group. “We are honored to partner with Variety for the fourth consecutive year to commemorate these heroic men and women and shine a spotlight on the selfless ways they continue to contribute to our communities after their time served in the military.”

“The special also highlights the best-in-class programs of Optimum, a leader in supporting veterans and military families around Veterans Day and throughout the year,” he continued.

“We are proud to host SALUTE TO SERVICE for the fourth consecutive year to pay tribute to those who have given so much to keep our country safe and strong,” added Dea Lawrence, Chief Operating and Marketing Officer for Variety. “We are thankful for the continued support of this important program by The History Channel.”
